Bilingual Assistant (Part-time, hourly-paid position)

Report to the Case Manager

Average 10-15 working hours per week, at $13 an hour rate.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct case management and advocacy services to clients living with HIV/AIDS as a part of the case management team under supervision of Case Managers.
  • Meeting contractual requirements.
  • Working as a part of the unit and actively participates in the quality assurance and continue quality improvement (CQI) tasks.
  • Maintain client-related records and other required documentations according to the protocols and standards of APICHA’s Client Services Department.
  • Identify and recruit Asian and Pacific Islanders who are living with HIV/AIDS to facilitate early access to treatment and social services.
  • Represent the agency at various venues to recruit clients and promote agency services.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in human services or equivalent experience required.
  • At least one year of case mangement work experience preferred.
  • Ability to take public transportation.
  • Experience in working with at least one of the following communities is preferred: people living with HIV/AIDS, Asians and Pacific Islanders, immigrants, gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgendered persons, family with children.
  • Fluency in at least one Asian language (Mandarin, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean or Hindi preferred).
  • Ability to write and speak in English.
  • Good attention to details.
  • Ability to follow through instructions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
  • Consistent team player capable of effectively operating within the organizational structure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful environment.
  • Basic ability to use common computer office software (Microsoft word and Excel).
