Food and Nutrition Project Coordinator/Program Assistant
Report to Associate Director of Client Services
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the Department of Client Services, the Food and Nutrition Project (FNP) Coordinator will execute program and financial requirements effectively and efficiently through the following:
- Intake and screen clients nutritional needs and work closely with the nutritionist/dietitian consultant and the Food and Nutrition Project Liaison.
- Coordinate with the nutritionist/dietitian to develop workshops on nutrition.
- Comply with all local government guidelines relating to the Food and Nutrition Project.
- To work with the Associate Director of Client Services to conduct the Continue Quality Improvement activities of the Food and Nutrition project.
- Assist the Associate Director of Client Services to update and revise protocols and procedures for the Food and Nutrition Project.
- Enter AIRS report, write and submit monthly program reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain financial and program variances of Food and Nutrition contract.
- Recruit and negotiate with vendors that will accept APICHA Food Voucher.
- To distribute and monitor the proper use of food vouchers.
- Working with the Food and Nutrition Project Liaison to coordinate the purchase and distribution of pantry bags that meet nutritional guidelines to APICHA clients.
- Work closely with other staff of the Department of Client Services to coordinate clients' care.
- Represent APICHA to other community-based organizations and government agencies to promote services that APICHA provides.
- Design, edit and publish a monthly A&PI PWA newsletter and calendar for APICHA clients/patients for update medical information, APICHA Food and Nutrition and other services.
- Attend all required training sessions and meeting.
- Actively participate in all agency and program activities.
- Recruit clients for the Department of Client Services.
- Other job-related duties and projects as assigned and required.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with basic bookkeeping is strongly preferred.
- 1 year of full-time work experience in related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience in working with one or more of the following groups is preferred: APIs, people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Fluency in one or more Asian languages is preferred.
- Excellent organization, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English required.
- Consistent team player capable of effectively operating within the organizational structure.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to use common computer office software (Microsoft Word, Excel) and databases (Access).
