Database Manager

Reports to: Director of Programs

Position Summary

Responsible for the overall operation, integrity, and maintenance of APICHA’s database. This position is also responsible for comprehensive data reporting and the design and implementation of data quality assurance procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the operation, integrity, and maintenance of agency’s databases
  • Coordinate data system updates with management and program staff
  • Responsible for timely production of accurate data reporting to all of APICHA’ funders according to each funder’s particular requirements
  • Prepare semiannual data reports to the agency management
  • Prepare custom data report to the development office and the agency management staff as needed
  • Troubleshoot and make recommendations as to any and all issues pertaining to the Agency’s ability to report accurately and in a timely fashion to funders
  • Oversee the work of data consultants hired by the Agency for special projects
  • Collaborate with the finance office to ensure timely and accurate billing and reporting
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive data quality assurance program focused on AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS)
  • Application and data security administration, including: access to AIRS, security rights and passwords; training of users in appropriate data security protocols
  • Participate in program/finance/data reconciliation to ensure congruent data systems
  • Maintain up to date data management policy and procedures, assist program mangers in the production and updating of data forms
  • Provide new user training
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in computer sciences or a related degree with 2 years of experience
    in relational database management is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access is required.
  • Experience in Crystal Reports, SPSS, AIRS, eCW, Maptitude preferred.
  • Experience and competence in training staff, and systems trouble shooting required.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, high degree of
    flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively required.
  • Ability to work in diverse work environment required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English required.
