YMSM MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the YMSM (Young Men who
have Sex with Men) Project is to combat AIDS-related discrimination,
and to support, empower, and enhance the quality of life of Asian
& Pacific Islander YMSM in New York City, New Jersey, and
Long Island. Through education, training, community outreach,
coalition-building, and research, we promote and uphold the ideals
of sexuality and sexual health and the acceptance of API YMSM.
We offer further assistance to young queer and questioning youth
through EquAsian, our social and support youth-led group.
ABOUT US
We are a group of young people that outreach to the public and
specifically to A&PI YMSM. We are young people under the age
of 22 and of diverse A&PI ethnic backgrounds. As YMSM peer
counselors, we share compassion, motivation, and a desire to assist
in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
WHAT
WE DO The YMSM project conducts outreaches to the A&PI community and
also develops workshops, training and educational materials targeting young men
who have sex with men in various A&PI institutions, universities, and venues. |
