This year Apicha Community Health Center is excited to mark its 25th anniversary. To celebrate, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, Apicha CHC is hosting our 25th anniversary benefit, A apicha's 25th anniversary galaThousand and One Champions.

We chose the event’s name because there have been countless individuals over the years who have championed our cause, and this year we are honored to recognize four extraordinary people who have helped strengthen our mission to effectively meet the health care needs of New York City’s underserved communities.

What’s sure to be an emotional evening will feature a reception, silent auction, and dinner at New York’s Grand Hyatt ballroom, in addition to the award ceremony.

The Honorees

On this special quarter century occasion we will pay tribute to four champions from a diverse group that represent some of the best people New York has to offer.

On our gala night we will be recognizing Arthur Chi’en, an Emmy Award winning newscaster for Fox New York, New York City Council member Margaret Chin, and Charles King, who is the President and CEO of Housing Works.

Our last honoree we will be recognizing posthumously. Catherine Abate, who was the former President and CEO of Community Health Care Network, was not just a patron of Apicha, but a great friend and supporter over the years. We are grateful to pay honor to her memory.

Continuing Apicha’s Legacy of Care and Advocacy

The patient is at the center of everything we do at Apicha CHC and our services cover a wide range of needs, from mental health, care management, insurance enrollment, nutritional education, sexual health, and HIV testing and prevention. Proceeds from the benefit gala are essential to our ability to provide quality services to our clients and patients.

As you know, Apicha CHC provides care to everyone—no matter their ability to pay. As a result, raising private contributions is crucial to help cover some of the costs associated with serving uninsured patients.

Proceeds from Apicha's 25th anniversary benefit gala also help cover a portion of the costs Apicha devotes to advocacy efforts, which bring attention to the unmet needs of the communities we serve to policy makers both locally and nationally.

Whether it’s advocating for change or providing care, helping our communities is at the crux of everything we do.

Apicha's 25th anniversary benefit, A Thousand and One Champions, will be held on May 20, 2015, a Wednesday, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. You can purchase your ticket to the event here.
